Book Review: Lights Out by Navessa Allen

“Lights Out’ is a light stalker romance that follows trauma nurse Aly who favourites masked men videos. One night, she realised that the masked man recorded in her house. What she doesn’t know is the viral masked man is her ex’s roommate, Josh, who is a hacker that has noticed her for a long time.
My review
This book is a stalker romance with a morally grey male lead, so do check the trigger warnings before reading this book.
I like the setting of story: Josh’s a son of a serial killer and Aly is a ER nurse. I also like the first half of the book when they first met but the second half of the book was not as good. There’s little character development, so don’t expect them to grow because of each other. I listened to the audiobook version, I would really recommend reading in audiobook version!
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT:
Josh is a very sweet character, I know he stalks but when he says ‘I just want to take care of you’. I’m done for…. He also has some internal struggle since his father is a well-known serial killer and Aly really ensures him that he is different from his father. HE IS SOO SWEET!!! He stalkers her while restocking her grocery for her! I also really like Aly’s role as a ER nurse. She is constantly taking care of people, and sometimes a carer just wants to be taken care of. I just really love that!!
SPICE🔥:
The spice circles around Aly’s fantasy and sexual exploration. The knife scene, shower scene and the epilogue is spicing!! I knew about the voice modulator thing before I read but listening to it for the first time… The audiobook really makes a difference!

Conclusion
It’s a dark room-com so if you’re into a book that doesn’t require you to remember a lot of plot details and spicy read, that’s the book for you! I would HIGHLY recommend using audiobook for a better reading experience!!
